Have you been looking to learn how to handle a powerboat and receive an IYT: International Yacht Training – ICC: International Certificate of Competency for powerboats, along with exploring our beautiful west coast shoreline? This is one way to combine a powerboat course and powerboat cruising. We are an accredited IYT – International Yacht Training, and CRYA sailing school. The recognized certification by the EU is the IYT – ICC certification. We may recommend working towards the IYT – ICC Powerboating certification. The IYT – Online preparation courses are offered online and are required to complete an on-water practical component. Once the on-water component has been successfully achieved you will be invited by your instructional skipper to complete a written examination. This is similarly designed to the online course modules and preparatory tests. We facilitate many Basic – Intermediate & Coastal Navigation Powerboat courses for 5 days and 5 nights, with your first pre-board night at the charter base. The course fee includes 5 days of instructional cruising through the Gulf Islands on board one of our 32 – 44’ powerboats, the cost of the instructional skipper, all moorage and fuel fees, shared accommodation, full linen and all meals. Students take turns […]
As we are now in the throngs of summer, we thought we would have a look at the best of island sail charter in the Vancouver area. We are so blessed in this part of the world, that we have a large number of islands to choose from around which to sail in our charters. There are literally hundreds to choose from; something which the British Columbia coastline is world renowned for. It is a picturesque playground for charterers. In the North of Vancouver Island you find Port Hardy. This island port is a gateway to some exquisite chartering territory and also has the convenience of first rate mooring and marina facilities. Also in the area is Broughton Archipelago Marine Provincial Park (just off shore from Telegraph Cove). Throughout this marine park, you can explore several smaller islands for the perfect island sail charter experience. The North of the island is a great place to sail your charter if you are looking for something a little off the beaten track. As you move towards the centre, things become a little more commercial and busy such as Qualicum Beach, Desolation Sound, or Lasqueti Island. The bays and coves here attract people […]
