AN ENCHANTING LITTLE ISLAND
An enchanting little island that used to belong to Mary Palmer. She and her husband lived and farmed on the island for many many years. Her story of her life on Jedediah was wonderfully told in her book: “Jedediah Days” When age got the better of them and they were forced to vacate the island, rather than sell it for a vast fortune, these good folk donated it to the BC Marine Park board. Now this idyllic spot can be enjoyed by us all.
The unique feature of this island is that the farmstead, the implements and animals and orchards have been left exactly as they were when they moved off many years ago. Visitors today will still see the now wild goats and sheep roaming the land and the orchards still bear fruit for the visitors to sample. One can only imagine how peaceful life must have been for the Palmers for so many years.
