Cruising Vancouver this winter? Get the right gear!

Planning on doing any winter weekends cruising Vancouver. Are you planning on doing any winter weekends cruising Vancouver? Well if you are then make sure you are wearing the right gear this winter! It will make a huge difference to your enjoyment when out cruising Vancouver if you are warm and dry.

Firstly understand how much sailing you will be doing – are you planning on short cruises around the bay on a bright cold day or are you thinking of weekend trips further afield, where rain could get you? Whichever it is the primary factors are to stay dry and stay warm!

Once you get wet it is impossible to get warm, so first focus on getting 100% waterproof wet weather gear.

Then layer up underneath your waterproof shell by wearing thermal base layers and multiple fleece, warm mid layers.

Another top tip is to keep moving! Obviously the active you are the warmer you will stay. so with this in mind make sure all your gear enables you to be fully mobile around your sailboat. You don’t want to be so bulky that you are unable to easily operate the sails and winches!

When choosing good winter sailing gear for cruising Vancouver this winter, remember these words – Comfort. Durability. Reliability. Get that right and you’ve got yourself the right gear!
