I must thank you all for being absolutely amazing and flexible with our charter. My back improved enough that I was able to fly in to Lyall harbor on the Wednesday to join Simon and Charlie. Simon and Charlie got to spend some time alone on the boat which was an unexpected upside.
And it was wonderful that Paul was able to come at last minute and skipper the boat home. With my dodgy back, I could not have managed alone with Charlie. Paul was great to have aboard – he was brilliant with Charlie, who learned more in two days with Paul than two weeks with us! And I got a refresher course to boot. Plus we had beautiful weather, good wind, a Montague Harbour sunset and spectacular whale watching.
Please extend my thanks and good wishes to everyone there – Ian, Paul and Sarah who I spoke to by telephone. I attach a photo of Desiderata III at Matia Island in the San Juans – a lovely spot. We loved Desiderata, she is a great boat, just perfect for us.
