The Cutwater 2410 Center Walkaround at Nanaimo Yacht Charters is a "do-it-all" platform that bridges the gap between a rugged fishing boat and a functional pocket cruiser. Its design allows you to fish for salmon at dawn, drop prawn traps in deep channels by midday, and anchor in a secluded cove for a night of boat-camping.

Camping & Overnight Comfort
While it features an open "walkaround" deck, the 2410 includes integrated amenities for multi-day adventures:

• Enclosed Cabin Amenities: The center console hides a surprisingly large cabin with over 6 feet of headroom. It includes a marine head (toilet) with a holding tank, a sink, and dedicated storage.
• Sleeping Arrangements: The forward bow seating converts into a large sun lounge/berth using an infill cushion. For camping, this area can be enclosed with a canvas dodger to protect against wind and dew.
• Gourmet Features: Optional upgrades like a refrigerator and electric grill turn the cockpit into a functional "summer kitchen" for cooking your fresh catch.

Prawning Capabilities
Prawning in the Strait of Georgia requires reaching depths of 250 to 380 feet.

• Integrated Gear: The vessel’s large open cockpit and high gunwales provide a stable platform for hauling heavy traps.
• Trap Rentals: Nanaimo Yacht Charters provides Prawn Traps for $100/week, which includes the trap, 300' of line, bait, and a cooking pot.
• Target Spots: Key prawning "highways" are located in the deep valleys near Nanaimo, Stuart Channel, and the east side of the Gulf Islands.

3-Day "Catch & Camp" Itinerary
This route optimizes the 300 HP Yamaha's speed to reach prime grounds while finding calm camping spots.

• Day 1: The South Run Activity: Run south to Stuart Channel(Subareas 17-5, 17-6) to drop prawn traps in deep water (300'+). While they soak, troll for Chinook near Thrasher Rock.
  Camping: Anchor at Pirates Cove Marine Park (De Courcy Island). Use the provided pot to boil your prawns on the boat's grill.
• Day 2: The Northern Fingers
  Activity: Retrieve traps and head north toward Five Fingers or the Winchelsea Islands. These areas are excellent for Lingcod (starting in May) and bottom fishing.
  Camping: Anchor in Schooner Cove or the protected waters of Mistaken Island.
• Day 3: The Lighthouse Finish
  Activity: Target trophy salmon near Entrance Island. Use the 9.9 HP kicker for precision speed control (1.5–3 knots)
  Return: Head back to Nanaimo Harbour to offload your haul at Stones Marina.

Important Note: You must possess a valid Tidal Waters Sport Fishing License with a salmon stamp and be aware of seasonal pulse-fishing closures for prawns (often closed Jan 1 – Mar 31 in Nanaimo subareas).

Rate: $750.00 per day (3-day minimum) 

All bareboat charter bookings are subject to the approval of a current Skipper’s Resume.
