Intermediate Power Cruise and Learn Course

(4 days)  

Increase your knowledge; improve your boat handling skills in this  4 day cruise and learn.  The course objective is to be able to safely operate as a skipper, a powerboat, between 8 and 12 metres with inboard  engines(s) in moderate wind and sea conditions by day.  This course brings you closer to being able to bareboat charter a larger powerboat.

Prerequisite:
- Basic powerboat Standard.
- A VHF radio operators certificate
- It is recommended to have a recognized first aid certificate and CPR
- Coastal Navigation certification
- Some experience as skipper at the Basic level and have applied the knowledge and practiced the skills of the Basic Powerboat Standard.

Topics covered include:

• Safety & housekeeping
• Boat and engine maintenance
• Boat handling
• Navigation
• Menu planning

Course begins on a Friday (preboard Thursday pm) and runs through until Monday afternoon.  Some classroom instruction may be undertaken as well

On successful completion of the course, students will earn the CYA Intermediate Powerboat  certification and Pleasure Craft Operator card.

Course fee $850.00 per person +tax
