Join Ian MacPherson, our CEO and YachtMaster Instructor Evaluator for a circumnavigation around Vancouver Island. In addition to the material covered to complete the Yacht master Offshore course, Ian will take you on a personalized journey of instruction in celestial navigation.
Celestial navigation (the practice of navigating by means of the sun and stars) is the oldest form of navigation, is vital as an emergency backup in the event of electronic failure and gives a greater depth of understanding of navigation.
Prerequisites : ISPA Coastal Skipper, Coastal Navigation, VHF and First Aid
Note: To maximize the likelihood of successfully completing this advanced course, one should have:
Experience as a skipper equivalent to at least two seasons or 20 days of cruising, and applied the knowledge and practiced the skills in the Coastal Skipper and Coastal Navigation standards.
On successful completion of the course one will attain the ISPA Yachtmaster Offshore cruising certification.(Spinnaker Endorsement not available. Cruising Spinnaker only.)

SPACE IS LIMITED AS THE COURSE TAKES PLACE ON OUR BENETEAU 50 SAILBOAT WITH EACH STUDENT HAVING THEIR OWN CABIN AND HEAD .
